Located at 42 Queens Road in Brighton, this 8,988 sq ft CAT A and CAT A+ refurbishment presented an opportunity to reposition an existing commercial building into a contemporary, market-ready workplace, enhancing its street presence, occupier appeal and long-term asset value.

Exton Estates appointed Workplace Creations to deliver a comprehensive transformation of the building, creating flexible office environments, upgraded amenities and a distinctive identity, while ensuring BBC Radio Sussex remained operational throughout the works.

Delivered over 10 weeks, the project involved extensive refurbishment across the building, including redesigned front and rear façades, a welcoming reception and upgraded workplace facilities. The second floor was transformed into a fully fitted CAT A+ workspace, combining exposed concrete features, warm neutral tones and considered finishes to create a flexible, ready-to-occupy environment.

A replanted rear terrace, secure cycle storage, new showers and refreshed facilities further enhanced the occupier experience. The result is a modern, high-quality workplace that strengthens the building’s market positioning while meeting the evolving expectations of commercial tenants.
