Located on Borough High Street, George House presented an opportunity to transform 6,300 sq ft of ageing office space into a bright, contemporary CAT A+ managed workplace that balances the building’s original character with modern occupier expectations.
Frameworks appointed Workplace Creations to breathe new life into the building, creating a flexible, market-ready environment with a distinctive identity and broad occupier appeal.
The brief was shaped by the building’s architectural character, its prominent Borough High Street location and its proximity to the historic George Inn. Workplace Creations focused on celebrating these qualities while introducing contemporary design elements to enhance the building’s functionality, flexibility and long-term appeal.
A key part of the transformation involved restoring the original terrazzo staircase, creating a striking focal point that celebrates the building’s heritage. Alongside this, the façade was refreshed to strengthen George House’s presence within its historic surroundings, bringing together the character of the existing building with the expectations of a modern workplace.
