The client
Part of British Land, Storey provides flexible workspace for small and medium-sized businesses, growing
companies and larger organisations seeking additional space. Its locations within British Land’s London
portfolio, including Broadgate, Paddington Central and Regent’s Place, give customers access to
high-quality facilities and the benefits of an established business campus.
The brief
Storey wanted to improve the quality, usability and reliability of the audio-visual technology across its
meeting rooms and boardrooms. With a broad range of customers using different devices and meeting
platforms, the solution needed to make it straightforward for people to connect, present and collaborate.
The key priorities were to:
• Improve audio and video quality, alongside the overall meeting experience.
• Provide a robust bring-your-own-device (BYOD) solution that accommodates different users and platforms.
• Build in resilience and redundancy to support dependable day-to-day operation.
• Create a scalable infrastructure that can adapt as customer needs and technology evolve.
For Storey, the technology needed to support the quality of the workspace: easy to use, reliable and ready when customers needed it.
Our approach
We worked closely with Storey’s stakeholders to understand how the spaces were used, where the existing
systems created difficulties and what customers needed from their meeting experience. This informed a
tailored solution aligned with the client’s objectives, budget and existing infrastructure.
- Understand the requirements
Site surveys and stakeholder meetings established the practical requirements of each space and identified
where AV improvements would make the greatest difference.
- Demonstrate the options
Technology demonstrations gave the client the opportunity to assess the options and understand how they
would perform in the meeting environment.
- Design and deliver
We developed a coordinated system design and installation plan, with a focus on quality, agreed
timescales and budget.
- Train and support
Training helped staff and stakeholders use the new systems confidently, with ongoing technical support
available to address questions and issues.
The result
The upgraded systems improved audio and video conferencing across Storey’s meeting room types,
supporting clearer communication and more effective collaboration. Intuitive controls made the AV
equipment easier to operate, helping users manage their meetings with greater confidence.
The scalable design also provides flexibility for the future. Components can be added or upgraded as
requirements change, allowing Storey to develop its meeting spaces over time.
The value for Storey
By bringing together system design, installation, training and support, TOPAZ helped Storey create a more
consistent and productive meeting experience for its customers. The result is workplace technology that is
easier to use today, with the flexibility to support tomorrow’s requirements.
